South Korea and tech

The Republic of Korea and its dynamic $39 billion technology ecosystem are chosen to represent the VivaTech 2023 Country of the Year.

When it comes to technology, South Korea is one of the most advanced countries. Digital services and infrastructure are plentiful there, especially since they are considered the most reputable in the world in terms of speed. South Korea is also a country that mixes early adopters and high-tech giants: considered as a global laboratory of technological consumption.

Also, in the booming beauty sector, Korea knows how to stand out and adopt new technologies in its offer. K-Beauty is known worldwide for its innovative and efficient formulas, its media coverage but also its high-tech services. These services are materialized in the beauty industry by a set of mobile applications including the user as a driving force: Picky (application for rating cosmetic products), Hwahae (application for recommending products according to your colorimetry), or the development services of custom-made beauty products using AI performed by AmorePacific within its flagship store Amore Seongsu.

During VivaTech 2023, about 30 Korean start-ups and SMEs will participate in conferences and will be able to take advantage of various development opportunities: business promotion, participation in programs, investor meetings, and networking. Korea has the ambition to become the first metaverse country and participating in VivaTech is a real boon for the South Korean Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communication, which is banking on this visibility.
