This spring, cultural activity is back on track! If face-to-face events are not yet possible, webinars are in full swing: and to kick off this cycle, On The Shelf is joining forces with Racines Coréennes non-profit association to offer a new conference on the influence of Korean cosmetics in the world.
7 conferences to discover South Korea
Racines Coréennes is a French association which gathers adopted people from South Korean and accompanies them in the (re)discovery of their home country since 1995. But carried by the growing "hallyu" wave, the association also shows a particular dynamism throughout France to widen the promotion of South Korea to the general public.
Available on registration, this rich program of conferences given in the form of weekly webinars will be held during the Sundays of May and June:
Sunday, May 2 : Fabien Yoon opens the ball with a lecture on the contemporary history of South Korea
On Sunday May 9, he will continue with a lecture on K-pop
Sunday, May 23: On The Shelf, our marketing consulting agency specializing in K-beauty, will present a conference on the influence of Korean beauty in the international cosmetics landscape
Sunday, May 30: Célia from www.cinemacoreen.fr will give a conference on Korean cinema and its emancipation
Sunday, June 6: Nicolas Finet will give a lecture on manhwas and the great vivacity of Korean comics

And lastly, on Sunday, June 20, Felix Kong from the Korea Travel Agency will speak. From Seoul, he will introduce the most beautiful places in Korea to visit (to make us wait until the borders reopen).
Beauty, pillar of Korean "soft power"
On Sunday, May 23, Laura Koeppler, founder of the agency On The Shelf and Jung Magazine, will explain how, from the ancestral traditions of the Joseon era to the pop-culture of the 2000s, Korea has made its local market so dynamic and has established itself as an international leader in beauty trends.
The conference is open to all, novices and initiates, professionals and individuals, who wish to discover the unknown facets of the K-Beauty industry and its history decade after decade.
Book your place now (limited time) and see you on May 23!
